20.04.01| downloading trickjump movies is the BEST kind of downloading
everyone know what time it is? 4:20, which everyone knows what to do with.....download some trickjump movies!!! and then watch them as stoned as you can get on whatever household inhaleants you can find .
this means download the newest most sensational super happy mega plasma bouncepad trickjump terrific movie from OPC. b3nt has done it again, by rounding up a shitload of trickers and saying "hey go nuts for 15 seconds ok?" and they did. including myself, SiT, Micheal Flatley, the elustrious Purgatory and Sinister, and tons of amazing trickers you would never have heard of if it was not for this wonderfull video. please send b3nt a dollah, he deserves it!!
next its time for some european insanity from, you guessed it, team blue -purg and sin. i really like what they have done with their new video called "The Motion theory". a community production all the way. while the editing and video quality isnt the highest you've seen, the tricking is right up there, some seriously original stuff in this vid, go check it out.
30.12.01 - gg 2001, gl 2002, dont download the
demos, and please sir may i have some more TRICKJUMP COMPETITIONS?
ROFLOMGLMAOBBL!!!!
you heard that right, big-time. its the second
evah pimpjumps pimpjump challenge. what does that mean? it means
its time to up the ante and trick like its whatever date holds chronilogical
signifigance to you (try and make it end in 99). i was thinking
about having some more trickjump competitions here, but couldnt
figure out what to do, because im too lazy to fire a few fucking
synapses and come up with a good idea. so what did i do? the next
best thing, i got some kid off the net to do it for me.
meet xpend. xpend is a young man hailing from
Anytown, Netherlands. he likes long walks on the beach, snuggling
in front of the fire under a warm blanket, and jerking off violently
when he isnt doing either of those two things. xpend emailed me
and said "yo imma from netharlands. gimme money." i said
"i like your style son, ill let you organize a trickjump compatition,
which is practically as good as money in the civilized world".
he snapped a deuce in his european linnens and came up with these
rules and the next thing we knew, there is a trickjump competition
ready to be pimped.
pimpjumps
OSP Trickjumping Contest for Trickjumpers
- Map must be selected from one of the new OSP
maps that OSP released
recently, you can choose any map from ospdm1 to ospdm12, as long
as you
trick it.
- After you selected your map of choice, get your trickjumper ass
in it
and
show the world your skills in a 2 minute demo.
Judging Criteria will be as folowed, basicly
the same as the last
pimpjump
contest:
style - this means mouse movement, speed,
fluidity during tricks and
inbetween them, as well as trick setup and landing times, and extra
neat
little stuff that we all like and notice. this is the biggest part
of
the
scoring.
technical difficulty - how hard the tricks
are. large score value,
really
hard tricks in the middle of other tricks mean huge points. as well
when
someone screws up a really hard trick, it will be less points deducted
than when they screw up a smaller/easier one.
number of tricks - obviously the more the better,
but if none of them
have
any technical diff, your not going to win
creativity - although the maps are new,
i still want to see some fresh
tricks, so no plasmajumping up a 2 meter wall or some shit like
that,
or it
has to be done with style.
map coverage - i would like to see a bit
of movement around the map as
you do your run, but this wont be a huge part of the scoring.
but this time, instead of a lousy comment, i
want you to come up with
something really original to show the world that you truely are
the
bestest
trickjumper ever, and that your daddy will beat you up if you wont
win.
forget the last part, just give us something original with style,
you
can
think of an insane trick that noone ever saw before in his entire
life
and
then comment in it. i dont care, as long as you do it with style
and respect
to your real pimpdaddy, drpd, and ofcourse, to his hetero sexslafe,
xpend.
Demos must be zipped and sent to xpend:
mawief@xs4all.nl,to be judged
by
me (or perhaps drpd will help if i give him another hour of hardcore
action,
and im not talking about q3) DATE = FEBRUARY 1ST,U HAVE ONE MONTH
ok, so you got it? send him your tricks at the
address, i have nothing to do with it (lazy). BUT that also means
i can enter ;p whether or not i will is another manner junior, so
get cracking. as well, i PROMISE the prize will be better than last
times (scroll down to check it out). not to mention you get the
crown of newschool-osp-trickjump-pimp. and really, who HASNT wanted
that from boyhood?
-drpd
24.11.01 - WINNNAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tough decsion, but here goes. the top 3 winners
of the pimpjumps first ever pimpjump challenge are :
1st place- Micheal Flatley on dm15
2nd place- 14KCamping_Gaz on dm17
3rd place- }-AGT-{Uni on dm16
the judging panel consisting of SiT, Japex, and
myselfd (drpd), was split three ways on who should win. the emails
i got were all over the place each seeming to have great explinations
of who should win and why. anyway, imma break it down so you all
know how hard it was and why each demo is so damn good.
++starting with 3rd place, Uni - dm16.1:20.15
tricks+."now go some counterstrike children, im adressing you
drpd"
ok, that comment was totally uncalled for, i quit that peice of
fuckup game the second they took out bunnyhopping so eat shit homo!!!
as for the tricks, gotta love em. a style after my own heart. lots
of plasma, lots of grenades, double rocketjumps, bouncepad plasclimbs,
midair boundpad grenade jumps, hes really got it packed. fresh map
choice, lots of originality on the tricks, and good movement between
tricks, he only looks lost a couple times for only a split second.
the only thing missing from this demo was a huge difficulty factor.
still hard tricks, just not the hardest ever. excellent in all areas.
style : 8/10
creativity : 9/10
map usage : 10/10
comment snappyness : 1/10 (diss me again beyaaaaaaatch!!!)
technical difficulty :7/10
number of tricks :9/10
++second place, Gaz- dm17.2:00.15 tricks +
. freaky freaky weird comments (how did he do that shit?)
i dont think im alone when i say this is one of the prettiest demos
ever recorded. the fluidity of the tricks, mouse movement, and timing
is simply outstanding. i could barely belive it. No god mode, no
outermap weapons. Packed with tricks i've never seen before, and
I definatly think the amazing trick starting at 49 seconds and ending
a good while later is one of the best i've ever seen. i know you
all dig his ultrasmooth mouse style, so i wont comment on it. what
i will comment on is something many people brought up, cheating.
i couldnt determine wheather he cheated somehow (by messing with
air accel variaibles and physics to do all those tricks), but i
dont think he would cheat in a contest like this. thats a bit of
faith, but i just dont think he would. great sounds, great tricks.
only one screwup, and looked like a mousefuckup, it made him go
over the time, but i didnt penalize him for that.
style : 11/10 (yeah)
creativity : 10/10
map usage : 10/10
comment snappyness : 2/10 (you wrote pimpjumps in PINK, WTF YOU
HOMO????)
technical difficulty : 9/10
number of tricks : 9 /10
++first place Flatley - dm15.1:58. 14 tricks
+ "thanks to....the ladies......"
this is what it came down to, flawless execution. flatley does it
better than anyone i know (including myself), and worked harder
for this demo than anyone else. look at how well the tricks are
planned out, he doesnt simply walk around hitting tricks with a
rough list in his head. EVERY trick is planned in place. watch how
the tricks slowly and progressively get harder. this means if he
fucks up one of the really hard ones near the end, the rest was
in vain. that shows confidence, and pure skill. hitting two hard
tricks at the begining of a demo is way easier than at the end.
and he didnt just hit two hard tricks, he hit 10+ hard tricks, including
SiT's gj+pc+rj from both sides (which used to be one of the hardest
tricks in the book). this demo is really something, and if you cant
see that it is what the flawless vision of trickjumping should be,
then your mother smoked crack when you were in the womb. a lot of
it. some people said gaz or uni should win because flatley doesnt
use enough map, but i dissagree. i love the fact that he could do
as many tricks as they did just to get to one frickin spot, and
he even left out some easier variations. also is the never before
seen "every weapon jump" at the very end, grenade plasmaclimb
to midair rocketjump to midair bfg jump.
style : 10/10 (flawless)
creativity : 10/10 (fresh weapon combos are really hard to invent,
he did it)
map usage : 7/10
comment snappyness : 8/10 (always the ladies man, and this was
a PIMPjumping competition)
technical difficulty : 11/10
number of tricks : 12/10 (because of the single objective multiple
trick aspect)
congrats to flat for a good show, everyone at
home do a U.S.A chant just to make him feel special. anyway, he
now has the crown of "Pimpjumps Champion and Most Awesomest
Proffessional Trickjumper". wear it well my freind. as for
the prize? i know you have ALL been wondering what it was, and here
it is: a shitload of ascii charachters!!!!
enjoy them my freind. and that ends the first
ever pimpjumps pimpjumping challenge. hope you all enjoyed it as
much as i did, and if i had to give trickjumping anything, it wouldnt
be this site, it wouldnt be all the tricks i've invented, it wouldnt
be a green bay packers tea cozy, it would be the amazing demos produced
from this contest. watch them and cherish them people, they are
better than you.
i just want to say congrats to everyone who entered,
and that i was REALLY impressed by alot of tricks that came in for
this whole thing, totally amazing, youn guys have skill. as for
"losers", there are no losers here, only a bunch of people
who didnt win.
as for who won, im not releasing that for a few
more days yet, i still have to go over the demos a couple more times,
because within the top 6 or 7 the competition was so tight, its
going to be incredibly hard to pick a winner. i will also post the
demos in a few more days, as i gave a couple people untill the twentieth
to get their shit in. this also goes for anyone else, if you want
to revise your demo or anything like that, get it to me before the
20th of nov. and i will re-evaluate it completely. i gave some other
people more time for the sake of compeition, deadlines sometimes
conflict with personal shit, and the quality of the contest would
be worse without these extra demos.
so grab some porn and just jerk off for like
a week straight (no jerking off for a week gay to gay porn), and
wait for a fat zip full of AMAZING demos, ill make a batch file
to run them, and will also PROBABLY be making a video out of these
top runs, so everyone who sent in a nice demo, be happy to know
you will be immortalized in video form (that gay porn you were in
doesnt count because its gay, and dracula wouldnt approve)
untill next week....
22.09.01 - pro trickjumping, yes? no? maybe?
wtf is pro? and the first pro trickjump competition at pimpjumps.com!!!!
alright, so i get an email from my good buddy
purgatory in germany, and he alerts me of this conversation thats
goin down over there, about trickjumping, and pro trickjump competitions.
it seems alot of people over there (http://planetquake.gcpro.de/pqforum/showthread.php3?threadid=37014
read it for yourself, translate at altavista.com if you need to)
think its a good idea, and that we should give it some thought.
well, belive it or not, i already thought of
this too. why didnt i say anything? because in my opinion, it could
almost never work, judging would be to hard, and who would judge?
the criteria as proposed by the forum topic would work well, but
still it would be hard to draw definate lines and make solid decisions.
secondly, how would you do it? online in "vs"
format? naw, there is no point, trickjumping is solitary by nature.
you should be able to do them on your own in your own time. there
is no way we could get a bunchof trickjumpers in a room together
for a showdown, so i think an online contest in which people send
in their own demos would be best.
thirdly, is it right? should we take trickjumping
to "the next level"? competition trickjumping is much
different than loading up dm6 and hopping around on your own.
now, purgatory gave me his opinion : hes against
the idea. he belives trickjumping is self expression, not trials
of talent in front of an audience. i agree, but i also feel that
showboating, and to show off, you need an audience to show off to.
and sooner or later, someone should be named as the best shower
offer, plus it makes it more fun and more people will try to trickjump.
to proove your self expression is cool and awesome and you have
skills and people should know.
so how would a contest come about? whos sponsoring
it? whos making it happen? whats the prize money? who gets to enter?
is there elmination rounds? well i thought about it, and realized
if i dont do something, someone else will.
ANNOUNCING THE FIRST EVER PIMPJUMPS.COM
PIMPJUMP CONTEST!!!!!
Thats right, the pimpjumps.com protrickjump pimpjump
challenge.
HOW TO ENTER
get your ass in a map (must be any normal q3 map, or
well known expansion map.
trick it up for up to 2 minutes, remember, more tricks
= more points, and less mistakes = less point deductions
send it in to me at pimpdaddyownsyou@yahoo.com before
November 10th
the filename of your demo must be yourname_map.dm_66, or
ill beat you up. (yourname should be your actual name, dont type
yourname or i will also beat you up. same for map, just type the
map you jumped on.)
then, i takem all, pick out the top 10
demos, and putem on pimpjumps in a giant trickjump extravaganza.
I post my scores along with the best demos, and then put it to an
online vote to see who should win. Whoever wins, gains the title
of "best tricker for now", and can gloat and cheer and
get more ladies than any man in history. unless a lady wins in which
case she will be swarmed by all you trickjumping nerds.
unfortunately, since im judging, i cant
enter. but i still want EVERYONE who trickjumps, or who is a "name"
in trickjumping to enter their trickrun. im doing trickrun because
thats what the people want, and it does require more time and dedication.
Its also more impressive and requires more skill in my opinion.
i think this is a half decent format, and if i get some emails describing
a better format, the second trickjump competition will be in that
format.
JUDGING CRITERIA
style - this means mouse movement, speed, fluidity during
tricks and inbetween them, as well as trick setup and landing
times, and extra neat little stuff that we all like and notice.
this is the biggest part of the scoring.
technical difficulty - how hard the tricks are. large
score value, really hard tricks in the middle of other tricks
mean huge points. as well when someone screws up a really hard
trick, it will be less points deducted than when they screw up
a smaller/easier one.
number of tricks - obviously the more the better, but
if none of them have any technical diff, your not going to win
creativity - new tricks are huge points, especially on
old maps (new dm6 tricks will get mad bonus points) and the more
original your style and even order of tricks is, will score more
points here.
map coverage - i would like to see a bit of movement
around the map as you do your run, but this wont be a huge part
of the scoring.
comment snappyness - if you have seen one of my demos,
you know the comment at the end is the most important part, so
do something funny, and its more bonus points. english please,
i dont want to have to translate ;p
so there you have it. ill be updating with more
rule clarifications as questions and holes in my plan come in, but
i dont expect anyone to have to redo their demos. remember that
style, tech dif, and creativity are what im really looking for.
as for how many tricks you need. hell, if you do 5 hard tricks really
smooth thats enough to get you into the finals i bet. choose whatever
map you want, but remember if you do a weird map that no one tricks
much, and you do ultra hard stuff, you will probably get more creativity
points, and those are big too. map suggestions : DM16, DM17, DM6,
DM7, ZTN1, ZTN2, CPM4, DM15. but remember, these are only suggestions,
any map tricked nicely will be scored well.
some ideas for snappy comments "i learned
all these tricks from spending quality time your dad, drpd",
or "you are now a ph.d, cuz i just schooled your cracker ass
beyyaaaatch". i will be counting cockyness and suckups into
your snappy comment points.
my picks for great demos are Japex, Prugatory,
Sinsiter, Chi-zu, Wanderer, eck, SynthVise, and a couple of serious
contender wildkards (including a guy who has done a quadruple grenadejump)
so get out there and get tricking!!!
RULES UPDATE------------------------------
Ok, i left out a bunch of shit. here goes.
god mode CAN BE ON (demos without will score higher, especially
if the tricks are on par with the godmode tricks)
timescale MUST be 1.0, dont cheat with .2, i can tell by looking
at several aspects of your demo if your a ghetto llama who did
this.
you CAN use weapons from other maps. (eg, a map doesnt have
plas or g's like t2, you can use give all) since its a TRICK competition
i want you to be able to do as many tricks as every one else regardless
of map weapon layout.
deadline is November 10th
pmove_fixed 1 IS allowed, and you may use it if you want. this
is to help people with crap systems. i dont think its unfair,
and if you want to argue about it, im your dad, get in the fucking
basement.
ALL TRICKS MUST BE DONE IN 1.29H. its unclear whatsup with 1.3,
so we will stay back and just use 1.29. no online servers use
it really yet anyway. (that means a .dm_66 demo extentions)
your demo comment SHOULD say something about pimpjumps.com or
this compeition.
remember, this is a 1 demo contest. zips full of demos will
be disregarded, all your tricks must be in 1 demo.
